The story of Morningrise began in 1992 when Elcmar and Hellhaz met for the first time. They shared their musical experience for three years and did lots of rehearsals together. Early in 1996 they finally decided to create “Morningrise”, their first band together. Elcmar’s most achieved compositions were quickly used to arrange Morningrise’s first tracks. In order to practice their new songs, the two co-founders of the band needed to hire a drummer later incarnated by Alveric. Shortly after, they also found a singer who stuck to Morningrise until 1997 and a bass player who stayed part of the band until 1998. The bassist was soon replaced by Volundr who didn’t leave the band before its end. In 1999 the band had supplied enough material to record its first tracks although it was still seeking a better singer. In 2000, Morningrise found its ideal singer incarnated by Arkames former singer of Seth. In January 2000 the band entered a studio for the first time to record its first promotional album. The take was done in a few days in an excellent atmosphere that can be heard when listening to the original tracks. Arkames (Seth, Ad inferna) has been worthly his reputation, emphasizing Elcmar’s music and Hellhaz.’s lyrics. Following the positive reviews of this first opus (Metallian, le sang des autres …), the band carried on working on some new songs for a second promotional album. Unfortunately, for personal reasons, Alveric had to leave the band and was replaced by Aslvid (Seth, Enthroned) six months before the recording of the second promotional album. Once the recording finished (2001), the band tried to find a suitable contract for the release of the first album. Regrettably, no labels could meet the band’s expectations (we remember all morons and jackass). In 2001, Hellhaz decided to split up with the rest of the band. A lot of frustrated fans have been waiting in vain for the release of a Morningrise album. That’s why the band has decided to open this official website where all their songs, rehearsals and will be available for download.
